Our charter

(1) The Ving Tsun Museum Committee is hereby authorized to hold an election every year for the purpose of electing members to the Ving Tsun Hall of Fame.

(2) The Ving Tsun Museum Committee shall appoint the Electors of the Ving Tsun Hall of Fame, conduct the annual elections, and be empowered to make and amend the Charter, Rules for Elections, and Selection Criteria.

(3) The Electors of the Ving Tsun Hall of Fame shall consist of nine Electorate Seats:


(a) Three Widely acclaimed Federations and/or Associations renowned for their promotion of the Ving Tsun Art form shall each be given a Seat.

(b) Two Widely recognized publications renowned for their support of the Ving Tsun Art form shall each be given a seat. These Seats shall be initially appointed by the Ving Tsun Museum Committee. These Seats shall be help by the appointed Organizations for an indefinite term. The Electorate Seats are to be filled at the discretion of the appointed organizations. If at any time the holds of an Electorate Seat is unable to complete their term, a successor will be nominated by the departing Seat holder, appointment contingent upon an approval vote of three-fourths (3/4ths) majority by the remaining Electorates.

(c) Two widely renowned Distinguished Individuals, chosen from Teachers of, Promoters of, or Contributors to the Ving Tsun Art form, shall each be appointed to a Seat. These Seats shall initially be appointed by the Ving Tsun museum Committee. The seats are to be held for a term of three years. If at any time a holder of one of these Seats is unable to complete their term, a successor will be nominated by the Ving Tsun Museum Committee, appointment contingent upon an approval vote of three-fourths (3/4ths) majority by the remaining Electorates. The successor shall serve out the remaining term. Upon conclusion of each successive three year term, the Seats shall become open for re-election. The Ving Tsun Committee shall nominate three Distinguished Individuals for the open Seats by either appointing past, current, or new Distinguished Individuals. Their appointment shall be contingent upon an approval vote of simple majority by the parties named in 3,a. and 3,b. listed above, as well as the Chair of the Ving Tsun Museum Committee and the Curator of the Ving Tsun Museum.

(4) Elections to the Ving Tsun Hall of Fame shall be held every year.

(5) Inscriptions into the Ving Tsun Hall of Fame shall be filled as follows: Beginning on the Fourth of July, 2000, one name (deceased) shall be inscribed during an election in accordance with the Charter, Rules for Election, and Selection criteria. On the Third Saturday in the month of May of every year thereafter, one additional name (alternating living and deceased every other year) shall be inscribed.

(6) Election to the Ving Tsun Hall of Fame shall require a simple majority of the Electorate Body.

(7) The Ving Tsun Museum Committee, acting by a majority of the voting members of the Ving Tsun Hall of Fame Electorate Board, shall have the power to both disapprove the choice of any nominated for the Ving Tsun Hall of Fame and to facilitate the replacement of any holder of an Electorate Seat, if deemed necessary by the Ving Tsun Hall of Fame Electorate Board.
